I owe my life to a Cranston Cop. I could find his name if I looked but he probably wasn't exceptional. He had 20 years on the job, easy, and he was the first uniform I saw inside the station.
I told the cop my problem, a fist in the face from a downstairs tenant, a petty thief who mistook my kindness for weakness and spiked my utility lines, among many other things.
I was obsessing the horror story revolving around me and angry all the time.
The cop asked me only one question.
"Do you want to hurt him?"

How would you answer that question?
Anger feeds on itself, buys only more misery.
I moved here, where I could step out my door in the morning and smile at what I saw.
Fuck forgiveness.

Ah, well..If he slugged me, I'd wanna pop him back. Other than that I'd wish he'd change his "evil ways"..or I'd attempt to "remove myself from his presence"
..There are people and actions that need to be opposed lest we lose the latter option.
I worked in Johnston, it's better in these parts.

There's irredeemable everywhere and fighting is futile.
The web has changed the dynamic forever and we've only begun to appreciate how.
I see a dozen residents of this small town I would hire as newspaper reporters in a heartbeat. Some of you take my breath away.
This puts the invention of moveable type to shame.
We have already won.
