slagisDB

It seems that I heard the chair mention during last week's meeting that they were going to an every other week scenario, with "meeting" one week, and "workshop" the next week. and so on.

You will notice that this week (11-25-2009) is headed as: "Workshop Meeting Agenda".

what in hell is that?

You might also note the many dates for Executive Sessions, from which the minutes are to be approved. It is not possible that they met the requirements for going into Executive Session as spelled out in the Open Meeting law.

So. If this a "workshop", can they approve the minutes of a series of Executive Sessions, some of which are of questionable legality? or, for that matter, minutes of regular meetings?

Can they appoint Library trustees?

If the rules of a "workshop" allow the deletion of Citizens Participation, then why can the business items I cited be allowed?

It is just more sliming around the rules.

7:17 PM

Are we seeing (or not seeing) what a workshop consists of ?

No TV

Different attire, either casual Friday standard, or clown suit.

No Roberts Rule of Order. No, they operate under Brucie's Rules of Disorder. direct from Mayor Richard Daley, Chicago, 1978.

Your tax dollars at (you should pardon the expression) work

Gotta luv it

LIZ

then I renew my questions from before:

If it's a "workshop" how do you vote on:
approval of minutes, both ES and Reg Session
appointments of library trustees.

The agenda looked nearly the same as a regular meeting. What are they working on in "workshop" mode?

Seems like a scam to me.

Just my opinion, free and available 24/7, to the annoyance of many.

HAD ENOUGH?

What's the difference between a meeting and a workshop?  The workshop is the shit that they REALLY don't want you to see them doing.

"OK everyone welcome to this informal  BOS workshop, everyone gather round, let's start spitballing some ideas on how we can really screw the hell out of this town.  What ideas you guys got?  Any idea you have to screw the town over royally just throw them out.   Free bagels?  Shit Bobo, you always demand free bagels.  What?  Free Brucey pictures?  You always demand free Brucey pictures too.  Let's see what else?  Make it a law that everyone hops up and down the street on one foot?  Brilliant, that'll piss everyone off and we love that shit.  What else?  Shoot the library into outer space because it is the source of all that is evil?  Yeah, the tin foil hat dumbasses will buy that shit why not?  What else?  A 20 foot tall gold statue of Brucey striking a heroic pose?  Good idea, Bobo, let's build that right away."

The Open Meeting Law says nothing about "workshops." "Workshops" were common in the bad old days before the OML, which was passed partly because of them. This just a ploy to get the Cable and Web feed shut down. Sadly, WCTV seems to have capitulated. Thanks for nothing, guys.

A glimpse into Wareham's future..How much will be seen in a Mayoral Gov't?
I'm sure they're very pleased with themselves. Easy to hide in the dark.

I don't know about you all, but it gets tiring fighting all of the lies and pure grade a horseshit that these people keep spewing out.

What say we all  move to Florida, find a large tract of undeveloped land and call it "Wareham II?"

Meantime, here's what we need: Someone with a video camera who is willing to schlep to the BOS "workshops" and video them all and post them here. We have that right under the OML, as long as it doesn't disrupt, as in, Bill W.'s flash is torture, but Slager's is like the warm sun of spring.

thanks for pointing that out, kinsailman.

It is April 6, 2010.

My fault for being distracted by dinner being served. she cooked the chicken, and I will make the soup from the bones tomorrow. The house will smell good all day, as the stock simmers.

with any luck, it will cover up the weekly odor emanating from Marion Road on tuesday nights. If only.......

I hear you Flyspeck, and I'd try and do it if I could..This is crazy. 99% of the Town is either unaware or don't care about the shit they pull. This meeting was taped by WCTV.
Think they'll air it? Would you be surprised if it came and went unnoticed if they do?

Where is there mention of "Workshops" as opposed to regular meetings of our elected officials? What business is allowed (word they don't give a shit about) in this variation of a meeting. There is NO excuse that these meetings don't air Live by WCTV.

Ham's right..it's tiring..I've lived in Florida before and most of my family lives there now..That doesn't sound like a bad idea at this point.."Hey shitheads!! You can have Wareham!!.."zombie followers" included..

Nah, Fuckit..I'll see you shithead's out the door first..then sip Marguerita's with Dan.

You think Wareham is bad?
Your Wareham idiots are all named Einstein compared to the malcontents, incompetents and losers occupying public office here.
My County alone had over 18,000 foreclosures in 2 and a half years, and it is not over yet.
The elected officials here are developer darlings and special interest butt monkeys that only care about making a buck and moving on.
In fact, I'd like to ship them all up to you. See what you can do with them.
