This is from the recent Move Wareham Forward/BoS spcl. mtg..
The complete meeting should be up in a day or two..
Your right Jane. It was "as advertised". It was exactly as I expected.
Ellen let the people talk, don't be so afraid to hear what the citizens have to say. I didn't see anyone putting a muzzle on Brucey, or Dick Heaton (geez Dick, sum it up).
Nice job Steve, I don't think "conveyance" is the tipping point for me, personally, but it's a great point. Let's see if they follow up.

For the record, folks, during this "open and transparent government meeting," the selectmen's plans for "Operation try to Slip a DUI Guy Through the Back Door and Pray to Jesus that the 20,000 some odd Residents of Wareham Completely Forget How to Use Google for the Next Three Years" were already well underway.

Has there ever been a bigger blow-hard than Sweet Brucey?..Many citizens of this Town are realizing that the current BOS/Moderator/TownClerk are the worst this Town has ever had!!..don't be fooled by all the sweet-talk and expect the usual blowup from Savageau..

It's funny that the motto of Move Wareham Forward is "always act as if children were watching, never do something that you wouldn't want a child seeing you doing." What message will the BOS send if they hire their new pal to be the TA? "Yes, Boys and Girls, it doesn't matter if you partake of copious amounts of peppermint schnapps and strawberry wine and then get behind of the wheel of a car, because you can still get a fine job administrating a mid-sized Cape Cod adjacent town!"
This is the ultimate test for Move Wareham Forward - will they stand by the selectmen on this and prove themselves as a lacky group, or will they speak up for the people of Wareham and demand the selectmen not hire this individual and apologize publicly for ever allowing him to make it to the top three in the first place?
Time will tell, but so far, by their silence on this, MWF is failing the lackey test miserably.

I figured I'd throw this link on this thread and add another comment or two about the meeting. I seem to do alot more uploading than watching these things. But I catch a thing or two along the way.
Mr. Moderator: Well, at one point he gets up and says Thanks to Ellen & Michael for "sponsoring" the meeting (nice round of applause here, folks). I don't know if it was just a poor choice of word, but I don't consider them the sponsors. I'd say that's us. So, you're welcome. Also, he (of the Class A Moderator class) asks Ms. Begley and Mr. Schneider, "How do you like moderating so far?" (Ha, ha, ha, Good one...) Then he proceeds to "mildly chastise" citizens for "making speeches". I mean, he sat in the front row! Did you pay attention Mr. Moderator? Pretty much one sided speeches all day long. Heaven forbid citizens speak their minds...and moderating? Sorry E & M, letting every question be answered without nary an interruption for upwards of 25 minutes. Again, Mr. Heaton. I appreciate you attempting to answer questions thoroughly on a "hot" topic, but I'd estimate the meeting was 40% you. E & M, a little quicker with the hook, please. But, it wasn't just you, Dick. Brucey's gonna say his piece(s). Brucey didn't sound so sweet at the "OPL" mtg.. No admission of flaws there.
As I listened to certain questions, they seemed to be read/prepared. Remember they had to be submitted prior, so the right people could answer? Maybe designed to raise "selling points"? One was about the apparent "no betterment fee bonus" for sewer tie in. The Selectmen were quick to pounce. Well, not Mr. Cruz, he was oddly quiet throughout...strange.
Alot of good points raised by opposition to Westfield (low # of below $500, 12 roughly, we're the ultimate landlords, conveyance issues, simple majority/potential lawsuits, alternatives, etc., etc.) Yes, Affordable Senior Housing is a need. There are too many issues with this "development', bring us another (not at Westfield!!!) if you want. This don't cut it. NOON2
Here's the link (and I'll add the "OPL" again, since I brought it up..)
