I like what I'm hearing from him as far as changes being implemented.

But supporting the BoS in their attempt to remove Civil Service, as he did at the OPL mtg, and that other meeting, is difficult for me to accept. Is it just me, but isn't him voicing his support (or lack of, for that matter), inappropriate?

Maybe if he was an option as FT Chief, it would make more sense to me. The changes he's implementing, and suggesting make sense to me whether he's gone in April (or whatever), or not. I hope it all happens with Civil Service in place. Then all the training officers are doing might actually lead toward potential advancement to Chief.

The BoS want to control the decision, like everything else (Westfield, library, etc., etc.)

I'm not a police officer, and these are just my views. I apologize in advance if I'm "missing something"

Would love to hear from Capt C on this. I believe he/you seemed supportive of the interim Chief, but your views on CS/No CS, I don't recall.

Yeah, except for the "Harass Poor Sweet Brucey" unit. They're straight out all the time.

These are some of the worst interview questions that I've ever heard.  "Tell me about your communication skills".  Basically, that question is "make up some crap that lets us think you'll be our lackey".  Haven't these people heard of behavioral interviewing?  This is ridiculous

Town administrator candidate, what is your ass kissing technique?  Do you adhere to the traditional "left cheek to right cheek" strategy, or do you go for the more bold "kiss both cheeks at the same time" approach?

I don't know, orange shirt man, I like my town administrator candidates to wear a tie...

His first name is Robert, I never heard a last name from him or the BoS. Is he like Prince, only one name?

If I heard his brief bio correctly, it sounded as tho he worked in Dennis thru 2008. And since? Graduate school at Suffolk U.?

Was he ever the actual TA. or the Asst TA, and the iTA. Wasn't clear to me.

Why is everyone so short? Geeez....where are the tall candidates? The third candidate they most really like. He uses Uhmmm about as much as Saguinet.

Okay, I've hired enough managers in my life and these questions are not the questions they need to ask.

1. We have a divided community and our boards are filled with cronies and lackeys. How do we convince the people this is normal operating procedures?

2. How do you feel about BOS interference in day to day activities?

3. We have been an inferior BOS for quite some time. Do you like us? Do you really really like us?

4. We want to open government to the people, but we also like to hold illegal executive sessions, how do we this without people noticing?

Something worth pointing out about the chief's slide show presentation is that the problems he identified had to do primarily with issues related to training, equipment, obsolete police station, etc. In the past the board of selectmen would have everybody believe that the problems were with the police officers themselves, excessive force, racism, false arrest, etc. Yes there were and are problems with the police department, but they are not the kind of problems that the selectmen would have everybody believe.

OK Bruce is starting to show his old nasty behavior again.  Why won't he let Jane make complete statements?  Always interrupts.  Now here's Brenda saying nothing and he doesn't interrupt her.  Get rid the the ssssss

HaHa Brenda's is trying to tell sweet brucie what he should do...and now he's ssssssssing again.

Mr. Cruz just checked his watch. All the sittin around gets tiresome, I know.
