Two hot topics were brought up near the end of the last BOS Mtg.. Back to back they discussed the School Committee Health Care Trust, then the Affordable Housing Trust.

Starting at (10:20) of BOS MTG. 9/1/09 , their explanations are let's say, unfulfilling.

The School Committee Health Care Trust Fund issue is, like most of their gaffes, being misrepresented by the BOS. Listen to Jane scold us, as she likes to do. We bad, clueless citizens should just clam up & let them mishandle things. The Standard Times had a story about it awhile back, but the link appears broken. The Courier's story can be found at Wareham School Committee OKs Health Trust Fund analysis

Saying that they thought the Town was "self-insuring", is a ridiculous statement. A contract was signed with an Insurer. The Town of Wareham is NOT an insurance company, and NEVER will be. It don't work that way.

The Affordable Housing Trust funds have been disbursed illegally, and now they're scrambling to assemble a Board of Trustees, and delaying payments to the consultant so as to not "knowingly" do it again. Because, "not knowing they couldn't" is probably their lame excuse for taking funds and misappropriating them. And, we've heard this fund has 120K, 140K. So, what is it? If they're paying out money, it's only going down, and at a rate greater than any interest it's possibly earning.

Listen to Sweet Brucey sputter his way through his explanation of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and their belated search for a Board of Trustees, so they can "explain their charge" to them, so the funds can be used "..if, no when", Westfield goes forward. Hey! You've already been dipping, illegally. Remember?

Say it at the end of the meeting when the few people still watching, think you sound like you know what your talking about. But, it's a charade.

caveat emptor
