I am currently in discussion with someone who brought up an interesting question. If the Selectmen are using their personal email address to do town business (replies to questions and complaints by citizens) does that mean their personal emails are subject to search and seizure during an investigation. It would seem that is the case? Anyone?

Any elected official that communicates with a citizen, voter, whatever regarding Town business is obligated by law to release any and all e-mails that they have received or sent.
Personal, non Town business is forbidden to be read or commented or published, just as it would for any of us.
But, public information to a voter, citizen, etc. via ANY means is open to inspection under the Sunshine Laws.
If someone says anything to the contrary, I say....take your head out of your ass.
