So I'm beginning to suspect that the ragman might be a pathological liar. Maybe I'm just a little late to the party and you all know that, but I find it funny that in the Cheers section of the rag there is the statement that: "For the first time in three years I'm going to unplug and go on vacation with my family."
Yet, last year... "For the first time in two years I took a vacation with my family to show them the mountains of New Hampshire"
And the year before was an editorial about... drum roll... the family vacation to Disney World.
I think the ragman has to lie to feed some deep seated turmoil in his brain.
A couple notes: This type of behavior clearly falls within ragman rules of behavior #6 - must be the center of attention and rule #5 must have people pity me (I almost missed my family vacation to disney to attend the secret recall meeting).
Second, anyone fighting for or against the rag in any type of lawsuit could use these clippings to show a blatant behavior of falsification, totally black and white - he lies, no interpretation of the facts to confuse a jury.
Anyway, this is just my opinion - I'm off to the Onset Village Store to do my shopping.

Excellent recap Flox....what we need is more people to expose the truth!

Perhaps someone who has been saving copies of Mr. Slager's newspapers would be willing to do some research and/or co-ordiante an effort to compare and contrast his printed words, complete with noted dates of publication beside each statement.
A full page ad, or leaflets to expose his contradictions might just be the undoing of his newspaper. People who read and support his newspaper, who believe his newspaper is the only publication that "tells the truth" need to be shown in black and white that his writings contradict themselves week after week.
Most people toss the newspaper and/or forget what was printed "last week" or the "week before". Someone needs to show them, in written form, quoted with his own words, exactly how spins his writing.
Anyone up to the undertaking? It's fine to do it here, but this reaches only a limited viewing audience. Give it to his readers. Give it to his advertisers and ask if they are still willing to place advertisements in a newspaper that has inconsistancies and contradictions, week after week, after week.

As of this moment, there is no mention of the 40k legal bill that the trustees just gave to the Selectmen! Thank you Selectmen for raising our legal fees once again!

I can just see it now. Bobo and his last minion alone. Bobo spinning wild tales of battling evil (much like a superhero). Last minion enraptured, awaiting each new adventure with anxious delight. [Last minion is a mirror, and Bobo is, well, Bobo].

Too funny, I already got a Jeer!
Umm, ragman, you used the word vacation last year when traveling to New Hampshire, your head must really be spinning.
Just a note, it's easier to keep the facts straight when you don't lie.

Okay, retraction time bobo. You Jeered me, now, if you are a man of your word, time to jeer yourself (unless of course you are a pathological liar).
Your Jeer: I took an overnight trip to New Hamshire with my daughters last year, which hardly qualifies as a vacation. Two years earlier I took my family to Disney when I worked for CNC. If you are going to lie about things, at least call Matt first. He's a pro.
Now, a friend of mine sent me a copy of your August 21, 2008 edition and within it was an article you wrote titled,"Reaching the Highest Peak of All" maybe you remember it, after all, it was only last year.
I won't retype the whole article, but perhaps you remember the quotes:
"After a nearly six hour drive, my idea of a vacation was peeling off my socks..."
"This vacation was for them."
"When you have seven year old twins, vacations no longer belong to you"
So if this hardly qualifies as a vacation, why do YOU keep calling it a vacation. Next question, where did you spend father's day two years back?
So, you owe yourself a jeer, in print, for calling flox a liar (unless you were lying last year, and the year before that, and...)
I'm waiting, I'm sure you'll do it as you are an honest man who admits when he is wrong, right?

flox, if his response is anything like it was when I used exact quotes from things that he had written in the past to prove him wrong, here's my prediction of what he'll say:
Flox, I don't engage in debate with people who I've already said on liars. You just continue to try to spin your way out of your web of lies
What's that you say? That response doesn't make any sense, and doesn't address the direct quotes of his that prove he was wrong? Well, yeah, but what'd you expect?

Pathological lying is interesting because there are so many kinds. Some pathological liars will lie about many things which are easily refuted for no apparent reason, and others do so because they want to mislead and don't think they will get caught. Others lie because they take a perverse pleasure in deceiving trusting people. Some lie about silly things and others lie to build themselves up. Still others truly misremember. (I have a friend who is a professor who studies the later.)
My impression of Robert Slager is that he doesn't always process what he writes through a kind of internal verification mechanism but instead is so intent on making a point and backing it up that sometimes convinces himself that he's writing the truth. While I think he sometimes is conscious of his lies other times he want to please authority figures and passes on their lies, or just writes things that support them and blocks his own recollection if it contradicts what he's been told.
Pathological liars in the psychiatric sense aren't the same as deliberate liars with anti-social personality traits. A classic example is a used car salesman who tells you that an old city taxi cab was only used for highway driving. The motivation for the lie is clear and he knows full well it is a lie but doesn't care.
What is Robert Slager? What is Bruce Sauvageau?
It is possible that someone engages in various kinds of lying too.
This is more than an exercise in mental health diagnosis. By understanding the people you are up against at many levels you are better equipped to deal with them.

"The bloggers are pathologically obsessed with him and seriously need a life...."
Please explain what you mean by this if especially if you mean it as an indictment of those who are concerned about Robert Slager's influence.
