SO BOBO HAS A FULL PAGE AD AND HE CLAIMS HIS NEW WEBSITE NUMBERS ARE IN. THIS IS WHAT HE CLAIMS: (BYE THE WAY I GOT MY FREE PAPER, I HAVE NEVER PAID FOR IT LIKE COLEMAN HAS FOR OTHER THINGS)

IN ONE MONTH HE CLAIMS:

17,192 VISITORS
57,805 PAGE HITS
443,498 STORY HITS
AND GROWING...

DOES ANYONE ELSE FIND THESE NUMBERS UNBELIEVABLE. YEAH SINCE ANY GIVEN TIME I HAVE GONE TO HIS SITE I HAVE NEVER SEEN MORE THAN 10 USING HIS SITE. MOST OF THE TIME THE COUNTER READS 3 TO 5. HOW CAN THESE NUMBERS BE TRUE YOU ASK? WELL A LITTLE RESEARCH SHOWS HOW THESE NUMBERS CAN BE ACHEIVED. WITH A TRI-TOWN POPULATION OF APPROX 38,000 INCLUDING WAREHAM, ROCHESTER, AND MARION HE WOULD LEAVE ONE TO BELIEVE THAT 17,192 PEOPLE ARE LOOKING AT HIS SITE. WHAT THE REAL NUMBER THAT IS IMPORTANT IS MYSTERIOUSLY LEFT OUT. WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS OF SUBSCRIBERS HE HAS. WHY WAS THAT NUMBER LEFT OUT? IM SURE IF IT WAS THOUSANDS HE WOULD BE TOUTING THOSE NUMBERS. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GO TO THE TWO SITE BELOW AND MAYBE SLAGER CAN BE MORE HONEST IN HIS ADS.

As we all know he fabricates everything he talks about.  And who is he posting those imaginary numbers for?  his half dozen subscribers?  Like
I've said many times, don't even acknowledge him and he'll have to go away.
Amen.  Do I hear a hallelujah ?  I dusted off a whole set of glasses.  I'm planning a champagne bash.  Anyone like Moet Chandon ?

The data on HERE on Alexa, another traffic tracking site (on left of each page)  say his readership has gone down since he became a paid site. Check the page views and page views per user. In past 3 mos. the first is down 60%, second down 40%.

If he's soliciting advertising based on these numbers I would hope he gives the exact method the numbers are determined to potential advertisers. If he is selling advertising based on misleading numbers I say the advertisers should know this, if they are based on fraudulent numbers we move into a different realm; like perhaps fraud.

His lack of advertising acumen is demonstrated (I wrote this before) in that clicks on the ads which have their own websites, like Used Tire Warehouse, which has a big ad, and keithisremodeling on his free website link you to the page that says you have to subscribe to read more instead of the company ad.

So essentially the companies that pay to the ads can't put a link to their own websites if they have them on the free page, and Used Tire has the biggest on there. If I owned those companies I'd want clicks on those ads to connect to my website on the free page. I don't know what happens o the paid page.

Sophisticated websites provide tracking information through the use of cookies that will show how many unique users click on any given ad, vital information for an advertiser. This is  how companies determine where best to spend their online advertising dollars.

As to whether I think those numbers represent anything significant, perhaps the fact that in order to write this post I clicked onto his site about 20 times should tell you something.

The true test of success is how many people care about the rag enough to throw in 5 bucks a month.

How many paid subscribers do you have Ragman?  That's a number we will never hear, will we?

Mr. President Slager has reached out ot me.  I'm touched.  Goodness, should I retain counsel ???   Please forgive Mr. President.  Its interesting you've never cared much for evidentury documentation when you write your articles / "stories" (443,498 % 30 days = 14,783 story hits per day). WOW, you are doing really well.  So why was it again that you have to charge $$$ for your outstanding journalism ?  Again, I am terribly sorry.  Can you find it in your warm heart to forgive me ?  Please, NO MORE THREATS !  Thanks

You may have any opinion of me that you wish, Mr. Brady. But the numbers from our web site are tracked by the web server that hosts our site, not us. If you wish to make public statements under your own name accusing Observer Media of fraud, the information from our web server will most certainly be admissible as evidence. What evidence do you have to support your claim that the numbers are "imaginary?"

Here are the Alexa stats for this Wareham Observer. All the important ones are up 7 - 10 %. This slow but steady growth is what webmasters generally like. Leaps of readership can be like the stockmarket - here one day etc.

OH NO! Not a threat from the President, Vice-President, Secretary General, Grand Poohbah and Honcho Head Cheese of Ragserver Multi-Mega Media!

Ragman, how many people signed up to PAY for your site since you began the paid subscription venture a month ago?  My opinion, that's the only number that really matters.

If it is an impressive number, I wonder why you didn't put it in your "The Numbers are in Ad."

On the email "threat":

Slager vs. Brady

I can see it now. Mr. Slager is going to pay for a lawyer and sue you for.... what is it exactly?

Like some of us who have websites, I am familiar with the data that comes from the site server, the host company of a website. It is useful to a point. But it can be misused too.

In order to track data in a way that is meaningful to advertisers you have to do what I said.

Hits that come from search engines that may access your site numerous times. I click on Slager's page many times a day but don't subscribe. I also may keep a window to his site open for hours at a time.

What Hamatron5000 said about how many paid subscriptions he has (and I'd add print sales)  is most relevant along with what I said about the measurable success of the ads he puts online. If the advertisers discover they aren't getting value the paper will fold (no pun intended).

My Jeer:

In scrolling down the page checking the ads I came across a free Jeer from Slager's Cheers and Jeers section.

Doesn't he have someone to advise him that when he feels this strongly about someone it's best to ignore them.

He calls IHATELIZ "a complete idiot and a liar" and a "seriously moronic, delusional and hateful human being." He writes "and that goes double for your psycho stalker son IHATESLAGER."

Apparently he knows or thinks he knows who these two posters are.

Mr. Slager, some unsolicited advice: grow a thicker skin and even if some of these posters get to you, responses like this from the editor and publisher of a weekly paper are inappropriate.

Dear Mr. President,
So now I'm a "juvienile" ?  Please re read your email to me.  The only question asked was that of any evidence.  Also re read your "subject".  Do you see any question mark, Mr. President.  Wareham citizens have been reading your misrepresentations, exaggerations and insinuations for far too long.  Like I said, NO MORE THREATS, please.
You have defamed pretty much any citizen or citizen's group that isn't on the same page with our illustrious leaders.

AND, for the record, what sort of "amicable" resolution would have made you "happy" ?  money ?  Obviously two immediate personal apologies was not adequate.
Please no more emails.  You can answer here for yourself as this is where you got your "evidence" for your claim against me.

respectfully,

Dear Mr. Brady,

Since you lacked the courage to answer my inquiry directly, opting instead for a juvenile response on a local web site, I will clarify something for you. I was not issuing a threat. I simply asked you to be careful writing defamatory comments about my business. I would have been more than happy to resolve this issue amicably. All you needed to do was retract your defamatory statement.
The fact is I can prove what our web site numbers are. Now I will answer your question directly. Yes, you should retain counsel. If you believe I'm bluffing, ask Mr. Whitehouse. I have allowed your defamation to continue far too long. You have attacked my honesty on numerous occasions without offer a shred of evidence. You will be required to provide such evidence this time. You have accused me of fraud. That will not be tolerated.
We will find out who the liar really is, Mr. Brady.

I guess bobo would have to spend his whole $25 a month income from his pay site to sue you.  Although the burden of proof would be on him to prove his numbers are correct.  Oh yeah, then you need to prove the statement caused damages.  Oh, and that they were not part of SLAPP.  Oh, and ignore the fact he threatens to sue everyone.

You hurt my feelings... I'll sue you!  Who has he successfully sued.  The thing with bill will NEVER go forward I'm sure.

He's bluffing.  In fact, he's harassing you.  Isn't that what he claims everyone does to him?

That's sarcasm bobo

I am wondering if Bobo understands what defamation of charactor is.
Referring to a well known family stating that one of them is a "hateblogger" can do damage to ones charactor.
Calling a citizens group a "white elitist" group can do damage to the charectors of those people.
Writing stories about the Library claiming that employees are being paid for not working can damage their charectors.
Need I go on?
So far Bobo has been lucky, no one as wanted to waste the time, effort and money necessary to pursue a defamation of charactor suit. But, that doesn't mean that someday someone is going to get pissed off enough to file suit. That's just my opinion Bobo, the one the first amendment protects me for expressing.

Yes Mr. President,
I have one comment / recommendation.  Within your story, offer an apology to the citizens of Wareham and CBW for misinforming the general public of any recall effort by the Citizens for a Better Wareham (CBW).  Also do that Mr. President, in both the Standard Times and the Wareham Courier and I won't consider a counter claim.  That would be an amicable resolution.
Otherwise, I guess we'll just have to let the judge decide.

respectfully submitted,

Oh wait, Ragman (see above) apparently wrote Mr. Brady for a comment for a story he says HE is writing, and now a story with no author's byline appears on the rag site, featuring quotes from the Ragman.

Bobo, come on, it's late on a Sunday night.  Stop threatening to sue people and stop interviewing yourself and go to bed.  You need to be up bright and early tommorrow morning to cover your buddy's arraignment.

I think most of his hits come from bloggers from this site.  I strongly urge you all to stop justifying him by "hitting" his site.  You all have much more going for you than to stoop to his level.  He needs you all to survive.  I say cut off his lifeline.  Let the Tri-town support his media empire, not Wareham.  He hasn't done Wareham any favors.

If this report from Bondware, the host of Slager's online publication is still true, they are using the well known Webalizer software for site statistics..

This is from Wikipedia:

Criticism

Generated statistics do not differentiate between human visitors and robots. As a result all reported metrics are higher than those due to people alone.

Reported hits are too high for download managers with segmented downloads, each 206 "Partial Content" is reported as one hit

No query string analysis, dynamic generated websites can not be listed separately (e.g. PHP pages with arguments)

Since he has brought this up, it seems to me that he should publish the full statistical profile for, say, the past month.

Webalizer is a free download available here which seems similar to Google Analytics which a referenced before.

Note (again) that these statistical analyses still only give part of the picture of website usage, are always inflated, and should be used as only a portion of how you judge the popularity of a website, and of the value of its advertising space.

Basically, this site is a good source for news!  Even in articles not pertaining to this website, he refers to this website. Isn't it about time he quits calling this the "fake observer"? After all, it seems to be the leading source for information and references! Good work Bill!

From what I gather from this site, he already wrote his "story" so this response to me just 24 minutes after he asked for my comment suggests he already had his story, as usual.  Mr. President, you obviously had time to write your story.  Why didn't you include my comments then ?  Did you apologize ?  Are you drafting an apology for the Standard Times and the Courier.  That would make me happy.
That "evidence" you speak to will be most interesting.  And for all of us here...when was there ever a recall effort ?  Do you even know how a recall works ?  Have you ever read the Charter ?  Have you ever seen a recall affidavit ?

Forgive my lack of clarity.

I think Robert Slager, Bruce Sauvageau and each of their minions and their multiple personalities should seek immediate psychiatric help.

Wareham's last half dozen municipal meltdowns were both predictable and predicted, from Slager's chronic legals threats to George Coleman, Ana Paulina, the computer audit and on and on and on and on.

I'm tired. Someone else flesh out the list?
