At the last selectmans meeting Marcia Griswald was there to promote the health fair. After she spoke Bruce told her she was doing a great job. Rumor has it that every grant she applied for has been turned down. Oh yeah she needed 4 new computers to write her grants. Funny the last COA director was able to get the grants she applied for using the old computers. Wasn't Marcia hired because she was such a great grant writer.

Within the last few weeks there have been 3 long time volunteers that have left  and  have vowed never to step foot in the Multi service center again as long as she is director. One of these volunteers (a senior citizen) was brought to tears as Marcia screamed at her because she didn't like something she had done or said. Should the COA director be yelling at ANY senior citizen.

At one of the recent COA board meetings Marcia accused someone from "the friends of Wareham" of calling the State Attorney General on her. Why would someone be calling the State Attorney Generals office. Sounds like she's pissed off someone from "the friends of Wareham."

So bruce telling her what a great job she was doing kind of reminded me of another clueless leader. Remember Bush after Katrina when he said "You're doing a heck of a job Brownie" Bush and Bruce both totally clueless

I'm not surprised to hear this. A senior citizen told me that when they had some sort of orientation session for the seniors in the tax work off program, that Griswald was disrespectful and kept saying the seniors couldn't ask questions until she was finished talking. One cool senior told her they were old and couldn't always remember their questions until she finished. Griswald was rude to this senior. She has a lot of rules and this senior says she is unbending. I know of another episode that happened at the site this person was working, but if I gave the details Griswald would recognize it and might take it out on the senior.

Remind me again, who hired this person?

It was sometime within the last year or so, i don't remember when exactly, but an elderly volunteer for the COA, and she had to be 75 plus, came in to talk to the selectmen and Sweet Brucey said, and I quote "you people better get your act together."

Who talks to an elderly woman like that?

I heard she was on a kind of probation for the first six months which I think is the end of June. If she is that rude while on probation hate to see what she is going to be like once probation is over.

It would be interesting to find out if they made any money from the venders at the health fair. Who got the money and how much money did they make. Someone said they were going to use the money from the venders to help poor seniors. Who would have a record of any money they might have made?

This is almost funny. It is no secret that long time COA volunteers have left or been ASKED to leave under the rule of Brenda's friend, oops, I mean Marcia.
During the campaign this year Marcia also made a nice speech to the seniors for Mr. Cruz but not for Ms. Winslow, in fact, she was told to show up mid-morning for Bingo, turned out Bingo didn't start until lunch.
Yup, Marcia is just doing the bidding of the board, oh and she has never been a good grant writer, all anyone had to do was check her references. Duh!
Finally, the fact that Larry Gaines is not there anymore should be a big huge red flag to the public. I heard he was ousted and she was behind it.
But, the cold truth is that the seniors are just votes for Jane, they have never been anything more, that's why they cut the budget last year because they really DO NOT CARE ABOUT SENIORS.
I REPEAT THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT SENIORS, THEY CARE ABOUT VOTES. SENIORS VOTE, THEY CARE ABOUT VOTES, NOT THE SENIORS WHO CAST THEM.

I heard that Larry Gaines, who I always believed was Pondside from old s-t posts, hasn't accepted being ousted from the Board.  I heard that he is running all the special functions but is not keeping the Board informed.
I also heard that Marsha is delegating responsibilities to the Friends that fall outside of their scope of duties.
I also heard that there is disagreement between the Friends and Marsha as to who gets money from raffles etc.
I spoke with my neighbor after I read the above posts.

Well you have it partially correct Larry  still on the COA board but was ousted as chairman. Marcia was one of the reasons members were upset because he and Marcia were so tight. Maybe if she hadn't spent her first three months sitting in Larry's car in the parking lot talking  for hours at a time she would have done a better job  writing her grants.

The reason you don't see Larry around  is people began to notice they were always togeather outside or in her office so he or she decided to cool it. Friends that hang out there say everyone started talking about them.

for whatever it's worth, I've been told that senior's receiving meals on wheels also get a complimentary Rag!!.Bobo has always gushed over Larry Gaines, yet we here nothing about the chairmanship being lost..sounds like a blowfest between the COA director, Gaines, Brucey, and Bobom(guess we must include the Brockton drunk as well)....

I had also heard that a couple of churches in town had pulled no trespass orders against Gaines. But that is only hearsay. Can anyone verify that? He was the person responsible for scaring the seniors into believing their meals on wheels would stop if seniors voted to support the library budget, even though meals on wheels is funded by another organization. Then he stood up at town meeting and said someone had "altered" his original letter to the seniors. Yeah, right. Then he proudly wore the anti-library t-shirts at town meeting.

If Griswald's six month probation is up, and the seniors are  having problems--now is the time to sign petitions and go to the selectmen's meeting to complain about her.
