Ragman writes, " Bruce Sauvageau, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, had told the Observer will ask his fellow board members to pursue criminal charges against South Coast Media Group, the owner of the Standard-Times newspaper, for illegally re-broadcasting a six-minute portion of an executive session meeting held last week.
On its web site, The Standard-Times has posted a link to an audio feed that was recorded off a live audio stream sent out over the internet last week. Sauvageau contends that such an action is a felony under Massachusetts state law. He believes the confidential meeting (which involved the audit of town-owned computers) was intentionally recorded, leaked to a local hate blogger, who then in turn leaked to the Standard-Times for political purposes.

This is just humorous. When will they learn that Bruce and BoBo do not get to control everyone in Massachusetts? They are so full of themselves they can not accept that life isn't according to BoBO and Bruce.
Ragman, why will the observer be asking for criminal charges? Anyway, it was a meeting that was broadcast. Just because the BOS is now labeling it - Executive Session - does not make it executive session. It was a simple sneaky meeting they were having amongst themselves.
And I wonder what was being discussed before the alert citizen began taping. And if it were ES how did ragman know cronan arrived late? It seems they pick and chose when it will be ES and when it will be something else.

I say waste more taxpayer money, play out your side of the story in the Observer for weeks on end until it gets to court, then....
GOOD LUCK PROVING IT!!
Which felony law is this? Another one that does not reference a consequence for such action? You know, like when recordings (or flash photography) of open meetings disrupt said meeting. Sure, it mentions that, but it doesn't have a fine, penalty, or what to do if it happens.

Even if it costs money we don't have, it will benefit Wareham by keeping the BOS and their atrocities in the real newspapers. The more we can get information about them in legitimate news sources, the more the voters will remember when they go to the polls in April. Maybe some of them will see the writing on the wall - not slagers wall - and resign. If Bruce and Cronan were voted out, would brenda and the others want to stay without their comrades?

I've hesitated to say this out loud, but I believe you're right. The abusive and thieving arrogance we've endured from these selectmen was something most residents preferred to ignore. They can't anymore and neither can our courts.
The laughing stock of the Commonwealth will, I pray, wake up and realize it has to actively engage in its future or we're all screwed. I swear by all that's holy, this town is paradise. There's nothing like it anywhere else and it's slipping away from us.

Wareham has suffered so much because these morons are so ignorant when it comes to the law. We're approaching over 2 and a half years in a library legal battle because these nimrods don't get it that when you have a "trust fund" then the "trustees" of the "trust fund" decide how the "trust money" is spent, do you think they are called "trustees" because, oh I don't know, that's a term that means "people in charge of a trust fund?!"
Now this? There's nothing criminal about the Standard Times playing the audio clip. We can only hope that if they bother the DA with this, that the DA will get annoyed to the point where he says "alright, let me look into what you a-holes are doing."
I believe that the Standard Times is a division of Ottoway Newspaper Corp (though that may not be the case anymore I don't know) but at any rate, they are lawyered up the butt. Please BOS, take them on by all means.
I'll pop the popcorn.

First, Anyone that reads the wareham observer (Slager's Middle school paper) and thinks they are gaining important facts, are dead wrong. His entire paper is an editorial. He is an angry man who cannot compete with the likes of the Standard Times or measure up to the caliber of reporter employed by the Standard Times.
At some point the scare tactics worked, but at this point, they are a cry to be put out of his misery. No one believes him, he's made too many mistakes in his assumptions and counted too heavily on the poor information he received from the BOS. It's been one big blunder after another.
There is a day of payback coming for him, his editorial propanda, and the BOS.

So bruce thinks that giving executive session information to the press and them printing it is a felony. Well maybe he is right.
So at the last exec meeting and we won't know the whole story untik the minutes are released Bruce polls fellow selectmen to give them his resignation now he finally admits he is an embarrassment not only to the town but to the BOS. They reject his resignation, he then calls Slager to give him the news from the executive session and slager prints it in his paper and on-line blog. Bragging that he got it frob Bruce and the info came from exec session.
So Bruce sounds like you have two felony charges to file one to the S-T and one to the Liarbserver.
And since your puppy dog story was not on the agenda you should probably file an Open Meeting violation against yourself.
And don't worry where all the fees will come from...just don't pay.if you can hide from not paying taxes, you should not fear a couple of small town lawyers.
And thanks to your boy Slager it'all in print...will be fun to watch
