The law offices of Kopelman & Paige, who have billed Wareham more than $470,000 since the middle of January, recently sent the Selectmen a letter telling them to seek other legal counsel. The Selectmen, they say, have refused to follow their advice and are making the firm look bad.
This seems at odds with the dubious legal counsel Kopelman & Paige issued during Spring Town Meeting but I was shown this letter and it appeared genuine.

I can not produce this document and regret any discomfort my post may have cost the firm of Kopleman & Paige.

Just because you can not produce documentation does not mean there is not some truth to the statement.

K & P is all about the money, nothing more, but many other communities are not impressed with their legal prowess in Wareham! And, other lawyers are getting a real kick out of how K & P interprets "law". If nothing else, at least they are becoming as much of a laughing stock as we are.

I've managed community bulletin boards continuously for 22 years but what we're seeing here is uncharted territory for all us.
