I was told by a reliable source that Ben Donahue was never  notified by the clerk's office that he had won the position of deputy moderator. He had to call himself a week or so later, and was told he won and needed to come in to be sworn in.

Looks to me like if he hadn't called, he wouldn't have been notified. Who made the decision not to let him know he won? I wonder.

Also, congrats to Ben on graduating from Brown. And I'm sure if he goes to law school he will actually graduate and he will no doubt pass the bar on the first try, unlike a couple of people in town, whom I won't mention.

Slager, it is apparent from your writings that you have a problem with successful people or people in authority.  I know other people who are like that too.  The common link between you and the others is each of you had an alcoholic parent.  Alcoholism is a disease.  Forgive your father and forgive yourself and move on to inner peace.  Get over the anger and stop taking it out on others.

I was watching a show the other night about dog mills.  The dog trainer made a remarkable statement.  He told the dog owner that the dog who is mistreated leaves it behind. The dog lives in the now.  He said it is the human who stays stuck in the past.
