As quoted on www.carawinslow.com and facebook "Cara Winslow for Wareham Selectman"

"Cara will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items during her campaign to be donated to Damien’s Pantry.  Please note these items will be donated directly to the charities involved and not to the campaign.

The items can be dropped off at several  collection points prior to Election Day, April 7.

[Collection Spots TBD]

Meet Cara Winslow and enjoy light appetizers along with a cash bar and music.
We will be collecting cans and non-perishable food donations to benefit Damien's pantry (please note: any canned good donations are not a donation to the campaign but a donation to Damien's Pantry).
Financial donations to the campaign are encouraged but not required"

Nice to see a candidate giving back to the community before even getting into office!  Keep up the good work hopefully people will see your willingness and commitment to our community.

I'm in a shitty mood so y'all can safely discount at least half what I have to say tonight. Hush, Bobo, nobody asked you.

Our sitting selectfelons represent a can't miss target but all Cara's offered is doormat civility. Look, I admire anyone who's prepared to endure at least a year in the company of these assholes but where's the conviction? Why should anyone care?

There are people in this town who help their hungry neighbors without ever drawing attention to themselves or resorting to that dated canned crap food banks distribute or that nutrient-less slop that passes for meals on wheels. I wouldn't wish that slop on my worst starving enemy.

C'mon, go easy.  Plenty of people depend on that food and anything added to it is great.  Not everyone has a local friend or neighbor to help out, though that is the best hand up of all, agreed.  The selection will be better if we don't simply add to it by cleaning out our cabinets.  I commend Cara Winslow for the gesture and hope people respond with bags full of decent food.  She does care about the community--for real, is plenty smart, and is a hard worker.  Let's support the effort at Salerno's!
