Don't take this the wrong way, CS, but the department gets those every day, even when it isn't reading word for word the same incident report it filed hours before.

Three enterprising but dumbfuck kids think they've stumbled upon a sure fire way to make quick cash. Kids, no doubt, who now claim they planned to return the snow blower on Monday, before anyone missed it, after they made a pile clearing 2 inches of slush.

No, probably not first offenders but most folks might hope the judge shows leniency, because even without a police record, who's hiring now? And we want these kids employed, am I right? Not plotting to get it right next time? We can all expect a big jump in crime like this.

Almost all those stories are press releases. The reporter never left her desk. Maybe she squandered 5 minutes on each one. Maybe she even placed one call to double check veracity. Yeah, ok, probably not.

CS, you remember last week's Selectmen's meeting and the one story that emerged from it in the S-T? That paper has 10x the resources and sucks just as bad the rag. Forgive me for the repetition but we are on our own here.
