Observer Media, the parent company of the Wareham and Tri-Town Observer newspapers, is proud to announce the appointment of Andrea Smith as managing editor. She will serve in that capacity for both weekly publications.
Smith will report directly to Observer publisher Robert Slager.
Ummm, there are only two employees and one is a managing editor, I guess Slager has been moved up to King (Bruce would be God to him).

How about... she's so stupid she'll work for free after I stabbed my last editor in the back - nah too lucid. Also, um, either Smith or Slager wrote the story, no by line so who knows, but they are both quoted in third person. Wow, someone needs some psychological help, can you say personality disorder.
We should change the name to Observer Media Mega Corp to impress the ladies.

Yes, none of which have had any management, editorial, or writing experience, oh yes, and no journalistic education to weigh her down either.
I personally liked the word "integrity" used in that piece. I can't even start to list the times she has been chewed out in Marion and Rochester about inaccuracies in her stories. Let us not forget, as bobbie has reminded us over and over, Smith was the one who wrote all those stories about Marion EMS and look factual those ended up being.
Managing Editor wanted to manage, well, no one. Must be willing to work for an ego maniac and be incredibly self centered. Willingness to lie a plus. Pay is negotiable but will not be fulfilled.

Long time hater, first time poster! Just found about this wonderful site. Smith is such a lackey of Slager it isn't funny. He tells her what to omit to put his spin on the story and she does it. He doesn't care if its lies or not and then when he is called to task he puts another spin. Refuses to fact check and thinks his "inside" sources have all the true information. Well, I'm sure it won't be soon before the Rag folds. Down to 2 employees after Liz woke up.... maybe Andrea will if she turns up her hearing aides and cleans those glasses. Ha after him laughing at Gatehouse media stock tanking now its his turn!

Bang up job that new Managing Editor is doing... They managed to update one page on the website in a whole week and that of course included the story of her being appointed managing editor. Everything else is weeks old, and remember, the TT is free because no one would pay for it, so the point of not updating the website comes down to...?
