The facts, as I understand them, are these:

Sauvageau's police report was completed before 4 A.M. but he knew pushing to resolve his case first thing in the morning would stall his paperwork ahead of the court's proceedings.

Sauvageau knows this drill sound asleep and dead drunk, as anyone with this driving record would.

Vehicle suspensions are issued by the Registry and delivered by certified mail.  Sauvageau signed for that letter, proving he knew his license was under suspension at the time of his arrest and that his subsequent statements accusing the police of targeted harassment were calculated lies.
