Bryanne I remember seeing your dad the last time he was in front of the BOS and how emotional he was. He almost broke down a couple of times while trying to explain what the BOS was doing to his buisness. There was no emotion or consideration from the selectmen. Buisness people watch and listen to what is going on in Wareham and don’t want to move here because the BOS treat business people like shit. They try to micromanage EVERTHING. I don’t know what Brenda sent in the email awhile back to ADM but when they showed up at the selectman’s meeting they were so pissed I thought they were going to stop the whole project.

I don’t how those two women on Maple Springs road and the BOS can sleep at night. Bryanne your family has been here forever and those two women have been here a minuscule amount of time. I wonder what they see when they look in the mirror, they have zero compassion.

This is a sad day for Wareham that these folks have lost (and the town has lost) an attraction that has been around for 100 years.  Thank you to the selectmen and their tin foil hat supporters for that.  These people are haters filled with nothing but hate.  They only destroy.  The word "create" is not in their vocabulary.  They are losers too incompetent to ever accomplish anything in their own lives and it makes them feel better to tear down the successes of others.  How sad they never realize if they were to ever take the time they spent on their hatred and actually put it to good use they would have their own successes.  They only destroy.  They do not create.

The selectmen should have fought tooth and nail to keep this park afloat.  It is an attraction that brings tourists and tourist dollars to Wareham.  How many tourists will be lost?  How many tax dollars will be lost?  How many jobs will be lost?  They had a duty as selectmen to not interfere with a public attraction that helps the town but they were blinded as they always are by personal interests.

When Mr Tucy offered to pay for the road repairs how can the selectmen sit there with a straight face and pretend like their actions were anything but a concentrated effort to run the man out of business?

Good luck to the Tucys.  The clowns that pretend to be selectmen don't reflect the rest of the townspeople.  With any luck the select-clowns will find that out come April.

Community Preservation funds....open space and recreation?   The bank won't wait.   MGL 61A implications here if the property ceases to be considered agricultural. Good luck to the Tucy family.  I wish you the best in this awful predicament.  Someone mentioned ADM talking to the bank?  Something helpful to the community/Tucys that was turned down?  ADM is also banking and real estate. Can the company help?  Community Development?  Don't we have any way to assist local businesses with a long history in the town?  Shouldn't that be a goal of our government?  If the auction is in a couple of weeks, this must have been ready to happen for months. Sad.

The candidates I am going to vote for would never be a part of the mess on Maple Springs Road that contributed to the demise of this business.  They would have worked with all the parties concerned to compromise on the issues: trucks, road repair, whatever. In my opinion, this was ridiculous, vindictive, childish behavior!  We all watched it happen, live, on Tuesday nights.

Not really the smartest move, they get rid of some trucks, but now their neighborhood will probably have a thousand more people when the 40B developers come in.

We don't know the details of what is needed and, in fact, what has happened, business-wise.  I had no idea it was at this point.  Plymouth County?  Regional?  SRPEDD resources to advise? State level assistance?  There is obviously no help for Mr. Tucy from his local government.

I still don’t understand how the Webster inn got the liquor license instead of the Stonebridge in Onset. The Webster is technically opening a new restaurant Stonebridge has waited for a license longer then the Webster Inn. It’s been a couple of months and the Webster inn still hasn’t opened

I don't understand the intricacies of the liquor licenses, but again, I say we are a community that should encourage tourist dollars and tourists love to eat out. How can a town like Falmouth have a gazillion bars/restaurants?  Can't something be done about this? I understand that the mall needed liquor licenses, but putting small business/restaurant owners out of business because of the lack of liquor licenses is not good for the town.

Maybe this is something the new board of selectmen can look into after April 10.

Take it back--Take Wareham Back.  We need a town planner.  We need a CEDA director that is working towards economic development (does anyone know what he has done so far?). We need a new building inspector and a new library director. We need a chief of police.

And to get back to this thread topic, we need a totally unbiased board of selectmen that will work WITH our business owners like the Tucy family rather than against them because a couple of campaign supporters.  Where do you think campers buy their groceries? Their gas? Miniature golf and water park? They visit Ice cream stands, restaurants, liquor stores, etc. etc. We are losing a lot more that a camp ground and a 100 year old business here.  And Brenda Eckstrom has been a leader in the demise of the Tucy family business.  Bruce Sauvageau, John Cronan, and Jane Donahue can be added to that list. Are these people leaders? Responsible fiscal managers? In my opinion, I say no. Let's not lose our focus. Time goes by quickly. April 10 will be here soon.
