Richard Paulsin (finance chair I believe) said he had a press release for the BOS.  Should have been in their weekly packets.  They can't seem to find them.  I guess no one did there homework.

The fin-com press release will target issues that NEED to be addressed.

Fin-Com said they haven't received the co-operation they needed from the ITA.

No audited statement for 2008.

Offline

#10 2009-08-04 19:18:32

Gee wonder why ITA doesn't give them the figures?

Lawsuits?
Audit?
Insurance trust?

That's commonsense's opinions, not fin-com

fin com said to ITA, they didn't want to go to the BOS.  They just wanted figures.

Fin com can't predict for the future, if they are given information AFTER the fact.  If they get it up front, they can plan on how to pay and plan.

What does it say when the current fin-com, APPOINTED BY THE CURRENT BOARD, can't get any co-operation from the BOS and ITA?  Hmmmm.

That's commonsense opinion again....

Fin-com knows there are serious financial problems, and we're not alone in this state.  But they need dialog from the BOS and ITA, plus the community, etc....

Cronin says we have accountant know and we're getting an auditor.

Cronin agrees fin con needs info, but ITA has been busy.

Brenda said the press release was released today to their office.  Will resolve first three issues in press release. New (non-qualified) accountant will get to it.  Auditor has completed audit AS FAR AS HE CAN, according to ITA.  Draft audit by next week according to ITA.

2008 should have done by Feb and March according to ITA, but Bliss issues delayed the auditor.

Jane blows smoke up the fin-com's ass by thanking them.  Jane always advocated for a change in government because of STUFF LIKE THIS.  And she welcomes the town accountant.  Then she thanks her microphone for being there when she speaks.

09 won't be audited till October.  Kind of the norm.  Books have yet to be closed.  Jane said they will get what they need.  She's confident in new (non-qualified) accountant.  But looks into her cauldren and predicts more financial woes and changes.  And thanks them again.

#23 2009-08-04 19:33:50

Jane is unsure if reports can be put together like that.  Might be time consuming.  Might not be able to include every thing.  Accountant might not have time to gather figures, blah blah blah
