I will take credit for the WarehamObserver.Com banner, before it was so rudely defaced, because I'm proud of it.

That's a Speed Graphic camera in the middle, nothing wrong with that, but I'm still waiting for someone to notice the one intentional masthead flaw.

I shot the background image on 2008-07-13_Sun_6-41-29am from still mostly Cape Verdean Oakdale; maybe the single nicest spot in Wareham.

The background trees in the image hide old homes and family ghosts going back forever.

For the record, I sold WarehamObserver.Com to "Pat Riot" for the low, low price of an order of fish & chips, extra lemon, at Dawson's Seafood (381 Main St, just before Rt6), unsurpassed purveyor of food with gills at a reasonable price.

And if they want to "comp" my next meal for the plug, I'm going to argue? Besides, "Mrs" Dawson is hot. Also personable. Hey, I'm single and a conisewer of such things.

I'm dead serious, though, when I insist the most noble mission a local newspaper can embrace is the promotion of locally owned and operated business. Y'all see ANY of that anymore?
